Youth Counseling

My Story

I work with men and women, including children (8+), teens and adults. I am a Limited Permit Mental Health Counselor (MHC-LP) practicing under the supervision of Nicole Serini, LMHC-D.

People who come to see me are often struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, isolation, or feeling overwhelmed. Some tell me they are surrounded by people but still feel unseen. Others feel they are missing out on life, going through the motions, or stuck in patterns that keep them from the life they want. Some were doing reasonably well until a breakup, a chronic illness, or a significant loss shook their footing.

In our first sessions, we’ll look at your needs and goals in the context of your whole life: your relationships, culture, community, history, and the parts of your identity that shape how you move through the world, including race, gender, sexuality, class, ability, and spirituality. My aim is to help you navigate challenges while strengthening your self-compassion, your self-confidence, and your skills for relationships and daily life. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based and trauma-informed, and draws on mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills, and nature-based practices that can help you return to a steadier sense of yourself.

Before Roots & Resilience Wellness, I interned in grief counseling and community mental health, and led programs in improv theatre for LGBTQIA+ audiences, sex education, and nature mindfulness. Before becoming a counselor, I spent two decades in nonprofit work. An existential crisis led me to focus on showing up more fully for myself and for others. My life’s diverse experiences have taught me that paths toward healing look different for each person; it would be an honor to walk alongside to help you find your own.
